Breon O’Casey

Breon O’Casey (1929-2011) was born in London in 1928 and studied at the Anglo-French Art Centre from 1948-1950. An assistant to Barbara Hepworth from 1961-1963, he was later linked with the School of St. Ives through his friendship with the leading artists who were his contemporaries. He lived and worked in Cornwall until his death in May 2011. His major solo exhibitions included Helen Drutt Gallery, Philadelphia, USA; Oxford Gallery, Oxford; Kruger Gallery, New York; Fulham Gallery, London; Marjorie Parr Gallery, London; Taylor Galleries, Dublin; Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin and Peppercanister Gallery, Dublin. Group exhibitions include Bath Festival Gallery, Bath; Arnolfini Gallery, Bristol; Berkley Square Gallery, London and Tate Gallery St. Ives. His work is represented in many public collections including the Arts Council of Great Britian, Irealnd and Northern Irealnd; Farmleigh House – OPW, Dublin; Kunstsammlungen Der Veste, Coberg, Germany; Leeds Museum and Art Gallery; Museum of Fine Arts, Heuston, USA; Pforzheim Museum, Germany; Plymouth Museum and  Art Gallery; Royal Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh; Tate Gallery, London; Summerville College, Oxford; Trinity College, Dublin and Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
