Michael Warren

Michael Warren is a unique artist who has carved out his well earned position as one of Ireland’s finest minimalist sculptors. Warren has been making sculptor since the early 1970’s and is know for his inexhaustible ability to create simple and structured works that exist within their own gravitational fields, evoking weight, light and forms that transform the their immediate environments. Warren is known for his extensive career in making public art, most notably in Carlow where his work Catharloch (2001) stands at the Dr Cullen roundabout as well as many other works throughout Ireland. Warren has also been commissioned internationally including Spain, France, Portugal, Andorra, Japan, South Korea, the United States and Saudi Arabia amongst other countries. He was one of the first artists to be made member of Aosdána in 1981.
